I visited our exhibition again… and noticed this on the studio floor. It’s from a painting I did with orange fluoro paint and glitter and the painting fell on the floor and Xavier made it into a drawing.

It made me think of the signs and evidence we leave behind us, that show we were here, both tangible and intangible.

The words of Karen Blixen from Out of Africa came to my mind…
If I know a song of Africa, does Africa know a song of me? Will the air over the plain quiver with a color that I have had on… or will the eagles of the Ngong Hills look out for me?

Yes, I’m getting sentimental about finishing the year, and leaving my studio.

I was so happy to see my Psychedelic pink coral painting hung on a wall with a fire extinguisher and fire sign. Danger! Fluoro colours!!

It’s really sad to say goodbye to my studio at VU. We repainted our spaces and hung our work for assessment last week… and moved out. It’s been an amazing year and I’d like to thank my friends, fellow students and teachers for inspiration, advice and fun.

The Awesome Awards at the University of Awesomeness were a blast. Apologies for the amateur photography… we were all drunk at the time! Video highlights to come… Thanks to everyone who helped me organise the night, my co-host Karlo Escuadro, the Award Winners, the bar staff, and Fernando De Souza, technician extraordinare! XOXO

p.s. yes that’s my latest big painting as the backdrop ‘Psychedelic Pink Coral’

My studio has moved! To cut a long story short, a student dropped out of our art studios, then I swapped studios with another student, then a third student swapped with me… now I’ve got a studio with a window view looking down onto Melbourne city from the 17th floor… Sweet!

In November I exhibited some of my work at Victoria University Flinders Street in the Foyer Space. I also sold my first painting – Geometric Blue – to a VU staff member!
